Thinking about the future.

Now that I am working from home I am starting to really think about some good term life insurance. My husband has some insurance but I would really like to have enough that if something were to happen to me, my husband could at least pay off my house and car so that he wouldn't have those costs to worry about. Then Social Security would pick up the rest until my kids are 19. It would really make me feel a lot more secure in case something were to happen to me.

Games

We have had so many different game consuls in this house that it just isn't even funny. I do like the Sony play stations though they have really good graphics and I do like that a lot. I really like the PS2. But my husband went through 2 of them before he got tired of getting the blue screen of death. He ended up building himself a gaming computer instead. But I had more fun playing Sony with him.

Way to bulk up

My brother is built with a very small frame. He is now thinking about joining the military since it has been so hard for him to get a job. I told him that he really needs to start working out, jogging and maybe take some of that NO2 Black stuff to build up lean body mass. He just brushed me off though. I guess he will see when he joins up and is the smallest person in Basic Training.

What I want from my Valentine

I was thinking about what I want for Valentine's day. I want something practical and not just some dead flowers that cost $50. I was thinking about maybe a watch? maybe one of those nice Swiss Army watches. I really don't know. But in the end I guess it's really not my decision anyway right? I mean it will be whatever my hubby gets me right? I wonder what it will be...

Looking for a costume?

One really thing that I really enjoy buying and doing is Costumes. I mean there are just so many different ones out there that the options are limitless. You know? I have found this really cool site Costumehub.com which really helps make shopping for nice costumes a lot easier.
Now that I have 3 little boys I am really enjoying checking out all of the really cute and gross
Kids Halloween Costumes out there. Right now my boys are young enough where they are still into the cute things like Power Rangers and Thomas and things like that. I am really not looking forward to the gross monsters and blood covered things that are our Halloween futures. Just trying to enjoy it the most I can while they are still so young.
On the other hand, have you seen some of the really nice Sexy Halloween Costumes? I am trying to loose some weight right now so hopefully by October, I will be able to fit into one nicely. I am thinking about maybe the Wonder Woman costume? I think my husband would really enjoy that. And I know that I would too. I had the Wonder Woman Underroos when I was younger and I loved them!
So go ahead and start checking out the nice costumes out there. Lots of choices too. It's never to early to get one.

Another way to save on grocery costs

This is a way to save on groceries that I hadn't started doing myself until very recently. You know when you make just a little bit too much food? Like one or two servings too much? Don't throw it out! I used to because it was not enough to feed my family of 6. Save it, freeze it and use it to save from having to cook or pay for a meal in the future. Once you have enough servings saved up heat them up and let your family pick what they want for dinner. It saves money and is kind of fun too. Almost like going out for dinner. This can be a great way to save some time when you just don't feel like cooking and also save on your grocery bill too. Try it and see what I mean.

Maternity clothes are gone now what?

I have 3 little boys ages 5 and under. That being said, I have become pretty comfortable wearing a nice wardrobe of Maternity Clothes. It used to be that you couldn't find any nice and stylish Maternity Clothes at all, but now it is almost like they are the cutest clothes out there and they are really comfortable as well. I think that is one thing that I am really going to miss about being pregnant and having babies. I don't know if anyone else out there feels like this or not? It really made me sad to get rid of them when I was done.

But with the birth of a new baby you of course get to go shopping for other really cute things like some of those really nice Strollers. I have noticed that there are so many nice new ones to choose from. I have noticed that even in the last 5 years since my first son was born. They have really gotten nice. Another thing that you get to look forward to is buying one of those really nice Baby Cribs. There is such an array to choose from.

So the nice fashionable comfy clothes may be gone but so many really cute things to look forward to (including the baby).

Save money doing your own taxes

My husband checked into doing taxes through a company at Walmart today. It would have cost us $250 dollars to file. Isn't that crazy??? We actually make a low enough amount that we can qualify for the free e-file through the IRS. Can't get any better than free right? I think the cap is $56,000 this year. You can go to this link to find out more.

Valentine's day is approaching

I was thinking today about what I should get my mother in law and my husbands grandmother for Valentine's day this year. I was thinking about checking out some nice Eyeglass Holders for his grandmother. I am sure she would really love those and maybe some
Beaded Bracelets or maybe even some Beaded Lanyards would be nice for his mom. To tell you the truth, I hope my husband is reading this right now and gets me a nice bracelet for Valentine's day. That would be awesome. But I never really know what to get them for holidays. Any good ideas?

Buying meat

Friday morning I had to go to the local grocery to make sure that I had breakfast for the family when they all woke up. I had already dropped the oldest at school because he has breakfast with his friends in his classroom which I think is neat. Anyway, I went into the store and was checking out the meat for dinner for the night as well and noticed that they had marked their meat down that had the freeze by date for the next day. Well it was all marked down to 50% off. So I got hamburger meat for chili and spaghetti for about $2.40 total. I also got a really nice cut of roast that was normally over $15.00 for $8.08. I was able to make the roast with the carrots, onions and potatoes for 2 dinners (added rice the second nite). So $4.00 a night for a really nice meal:) I thought that was slick.
So check out the sales on the meats in your store. Don't be shy about asking when they put it out either.

Payday loan might be the answer.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck like most Americans (including us), you know that sometimes things can get a little bit hairy when it comes to being able to get through the month. We don't really have relatives that we could borrow money from because most of them are in the same situation that we are (if not worse). I also don't really like the idea of credit cards because they can change their terms of service at any time and end up charging twice as much interest. I have heard of this happening to a lot of people lately. So, faxless payday loans might really be the way to go. They are really easy to do. There is no credit check, no documents to fax, low interest rates and you can get up to $1500 on the same business day too. I think those are all really good things. And Online Payday Loans can really help you out in a pinch in a really stressful situation if you find yourself in one. You could use a payday loan instead of a credit card for purchases such as Holiday presents even.
So, if you ever get in a situation where you think that you might need one, don't hesitate. They are really simple to do!

Great cheap phone service

Okay, so I have written about how we got rid of our unlimited long distance and all the other bells and whistles on our phone/dsl package. We were originally paying $100 for 6 mbps DSL and the phone. We are now getting 12 mbps DSL and basic phone (unlimited calls in, ten cents per min calling out and no long distance but we do have 911 and 800 numbers for free). The DSL and basic phone is just $45 through Windstream. Now we are going to get Skype for the long distance and to call other numbers. The Skype is about $3 per month. So for half the price I will be able to do all of the same things that I did before. I think that is pretty slick:)

Never too early to think about Halloween Costumes

I have started looking early for some Halloween Costumes this year. I think that we will do a theme for the whole family this time around. Last year we had a Power Ranger, Tranformer and a Pea Pod. They were really cute, but I am looking for something maybe a little cuter and original too. I have found a really cool site that offers really cute Kids Costumes and really original Adult Costumes too. So I can get everything all in one place for more convenience. I really like this cool Jedi Knight costume. I think that my Ethan would really look good in it. Maybe get my youngest the Yoda costume and Jacob the Darth Vader or Storm Trooper costume. I think that I will go as Princess Leya myself. I can use my own hair for the buns on the side. They also have the guns and such to go with the costumes. They also have some really cool Super Hero costumes, Pirates, Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Holiday, Biblical and more! I can't wait to buy the costumes just have to decide which sizes to get now.
It is never too early to start thinking about Halloween. Right now is when they will have the best variety to choose from.

Free Rx at Publix!!!

Just wanted to let others know that Publix has a list of free Rx for certain antibiotics. We have insurance but this can save us anywhere from $10 to $25 and I am guessing that it can save others even more that do not have insurance at all. I had to get some yesterday for my 5 year old son that has a UTI. We were caught a little short this week on Money and this really saved us. I was able to get our groceries for the week while waiting for the Rx to be filled. It was pretty cool. So check out the list if you ever need any antibiotics. These are the ones listed but there may be others available. Don't be afraid to ask your Dr if they can prescribe one from the list either. A good doctor will try to accommodate their patient to save them money if one of these meds will help your issue:)

Amoxicillin
Cephalexin
Sulfamethoxazole/Trimeethoprim (SMZ-TMP)
Ciprofloxacin (Excluding ciprofloxacin XR)
Erythromycin Stearate and Ethylsuccinate
Doxycycline Hyclate (Capules only)
Penicillin VK
Ampicillin

Cheap diet pills

I am sitting here trying to compare diet aids both by what they say works best and also by cost. One of the cheaper diet aids that I have found is NV diet pills. So if price is an obstical for you to get over like it is for me right now, you really might want to check it out. Love to hear what you have to say about them too. Anyone out there tried them?

Nice watches

I think that one of the nicest things that you can get someone for a present is a nice watch. They are very practal and will last a long time as long as you buy something like a Rolex or a Patek Philippe. Yeah, they may cost a pretty penny, but in the longr run, something you can have for over 20 years, the price really isn't too bad.

Free Pancakes!!!

Well, I don't know what could be more slick that free food! I wanted to go to this the last time that they had it but didn't make it. If you like IHOP, you really should check out the promotion that they are going to have going on on February 24, 2009. I think I am going to take the whole family. We will of course leave a nice tip:)

Exercise and diet aid?

While doing my exercise routine, I would like to figure out a good diet supplement to take as well. I mean, I think that exercising and a diet would be the best way to go to make sure that I loose the most in the time that I want to loose in. I think that if I see the results a little bit faster I am more likely to stick with it. You know? I have heard about Decaslim and I think I am going to check it out.

Bringing snacks for the kids

I know that this sounds like a "duh" sort of thing to post about but you would not believe how many times I have not brought snacks thinking that I would not be out for long and end up having to stop by the local McDonald's and spend close to $20. That is a pretty costly mistake if you ask me...I live about 30 miles from one of the larger cities that we go to pretty often for shopping and things like Dr. visits. So, someone is going to get hungry while we are out. It never fails. What I like to do is bring along either a box drink, or one of those squeeze it drinks. You can also pack some sippycups with juice or water just as well. But I like to just toss it when we are done so that I don't have to remember to get it out of my car later. I also like to pack peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They are pretty healthy and very filling and they also stay good so you don't have to worry about the temperature in the car too much either. Just doing that can really save you a lot of money while going around town.
I would love to hear some of your cost saving ideas while out with the kids.

Trying to exercise with kids

Evrery mom of little kids knows how hard it is to be able to get out and get some very needed exercise. I would love to go bike riding to get some exercise, but I can't take my 3 kids with me to do it. I would also like to jog, but I don't want to take the 3 kids all by myself. So I had to find something that I can do without having to leave the house. I can exercise using an elliptical in my own home when the kids are napping so I can do it more often so more likely to keep with it.

Baby food Coupons

Baby food can be very expensive over the month. I have found some pretty good coupons that I hope will help others try to keep the cost down. Let me know if these coupons help you any. I would love to search for more of them to help others in the future. Happy coupon clipping!

Maybe getting some acne treatment

Now that I am not pregnant anymore, I am starting to think more about how I look again. I have begun to think about having some possible acne treatments to make my skin look a bit nicer. I haven't really tried any though since I was probably about 13 or so, but know that newer and better stuff with less side effects has come out since then.

Great savings at Diapers.com

I just found this really good deal on diapers. If you haven't tried Diapers.com now is the time to try them. They are offering $10 and free 2nd day shipping. Can't get much better than that. And you buy in bulk for even more savings. So check out their site and don't forget to use the money saving code.

Thinking about a vacation

My days seem to blend together lately. My husband has been stressed at work. We have started talking about some nice vacation rentals. Just thinking about being able to go on a vacation makes me feel a lot better. We have discussed a few places that we would like to visit. But we are still talking about it because we are going to have to take our kids with us. We have not taken a real vacation in about 5 years now. We are way overdue. Don't you think so?

Have you noticed?

Okay, have you noticed all of the different products that they are making "new and improved"?

Razors: Okay, so for hundreds if not thousands of years we got along fine with just one blade. Do 5 blades really cut that facial or leg hair any better? Is 5 better than 4? Good grief!

Maxi pads: I can understand the wings or thickness but what else? They have the different lengths, some just for night time use...the list goes on and on...I remember my mom buying a really big cardboard box of them when I was younger. They weren't even folded, were not in little plastic envelopes and I can't even remember if they had the adhesive on the back?

Diapers: I know that different brands are way different. I know they need different sizes too...But do they really need boys/girls diapers??? Why don't they just make those unisex? And no it's not just the Pull Ups either, there are some diapers that are like that...weird!

Blanket with sleeves: Okay, has anyone seen the commercials on TV with the blankets with sleeves? Has anyone else thought that they look just like a BATHROBE turned around backwards??? I mean my gawd!

Would love to hear what you think about my observations and love to hear more if you have them too!

Great time to save in Las Vegas

I have been reading about how right now is the right time to go get las vegas hotel reservations. Right now the economy is tanking so business is not as good in Las Vegas. That translates to better rates, less crowding and easier to get into all of the really cool shows. So if you are thinking about going, now is the time to.

Safe computer play for your young kids

We do have our Nintendo Game Cube, but I don't want to keep buying games for my son to play on my desktop computer. I have found a few sites that have either videos, games or both that are safe for very young kids. I will list a few that I can think of right now and when I either think of a few more or find some more, I will list them too. If you know of any, I would love to know them as well.

Thinking about some pet supplies

I really need to get some more pet supplies for our bunny. She is really fun to shop for, we have even bought her a cute little bunny brush to keep her from shedding so much. She is such a cutie pie. We haven't really bought her much except for necessities lately though, because I just don't remember to when I go to the store. Maybe I will buy some cute stuff online.

Save a little while cooking

Okay, I know that this is not going to be a really good health tip. It is actually an unhealthy tip. But it is a money saving one. Tonight we had French Toast and bacon. I made the bacon first and I pored the grease into a really small pot. I left a little bit in the pan that I had just made the bacon in and used it insrtead of butter/margerin to make the French toast. You really couldn't tell with the taste at all because you just use a little bit, just enough to keep the bread from sticking. I don't save my grease to use a different day or anything, but if you are cooking something the same day that you can use it for, why not save your butter?

Some really cute kids clothes

I just found this really cute site for nice boutique Childrens Clothing. They have infant through toddler sizes which is good for me since I have 3 little boys. The clothing is hand made and oh so cute! I just love the unisex sock monkey shirt. It looks like the real monkey! And it has a patch of banannas on the back which I thought was really cute as well. Don't you think so? And right now it's actually on sale which if you know me, I am all into that. They also have really cute Little Girls Clothes if you are looking for them too. Oh it makes me want to have a little girl just looking at those clothes! They also have some really cute Baby Gift Baskets. They would be cute to buy for a friend of relative either for a baby shower or when the baby is born to take to the hospital when you visit.
So, if you are like me and want your kids to look really nice and not like all the other kids, you really aught to check them out. I am sure that you will find something for all of the little kids on your list.

Great deals at CVS

If anyone is interested, CVS is still having 75% off of their Christmas merchandise. Now is a good time to go ahead and get things like wrappingpaper and Christmas cards for 1/4 of the normal cost. These are things that can easily be stored and won't spoil as well. I went to my local store today and they still have a pretty nice supply of them. They are really trying to move it out too, because they are already starting to bring in the Valentine's day merchandise.
Check it out!

Love to get a rugged portable computer

You know, I am really starting to consider getting one of those new Rugged Portable Computer Systems. Have you seen them? Right now I have a 10inch ASUS that I love but it just isn't quite portable enough. Yeah I know that sounds funny. But I want something that is event smaller and to tell you the truth a lot more rugged than what I have now. I mean, if I turn my head for a minute, my 2 year old has my computer and you know that is not going to end well. My laptop bit the dust thanks to him. You really should see the choices though. They have really fast tablet PC's, speech to speech translation and my favorite one the Orion - 6.4” Tablet PC. It is small enough to wear and is designed for the dash of your vehicle. That way I can have it with me all the time so I can jot down quick ideas for my blogs. Talk about convenient. And it would be harder for my kids to get their little hands on. But hey, they are rugged right? So what is it that you would do with one if you had one? Do you have one already? Love to hear from you!

Walmart Discount Rx and over the counter

You know, we do have medical insurance and it does cover prescriptions, but we have to pay $10/25/40 depending on the actual medication. Walmart has a lot of prescriptions for $4 for a whole months supply and $10 for 3 month supply. I think that is is just great don't you? That is a deal that i shard that is going to be hard to beat. And now, they don't just have better deals on prescriptions, but also on over the counter drugs and other things as well. Go to the following site and check out the otc deals. I was really surprised to see the different things that are now $4 just like the prescriptions. I can't wait until the next time that I go to Walmart:)

Looking for a cosmetic surgeon?

Since I have been nursing my son, I have really started to like having a larger bust area. So, I have started to look into breast enlargement surgery. I really don't know if it is for me just because I am terrified of being put under. But I am really starting to warm up to the idea. I mean after all, it really is a simple surgery and it also has the highest satisfaction rate of any cosmetic surgery. I am sure that my husband would really like it as well. He says that he wouldn't but I know when he is fibbing. What man wouldn't want that? It only takes an overnight stay and one week home from work too. Oh and they also do it where the stitches are in the natural creases so that you don't see any scaring or anything like that which I like too. The company that I found is Mya Cosmetic and they have some of the best surgeons with some of the most experience. I know when I am looking for a surgeon that is definately something that I look for is lots of experience.
So, if you are looking for a reputable surgeon to do cosmetic surgery, you really aught to check them out.

Thank goodness for insurance!

Well, I am so glad that we have good health insurance. Before I quit my full time out of the home job I had the insurance in my name. Now it is it my husband's and we also downgraded to a HMO (Avmed) instead of the Blue Cross/Blue shield. We don't have the $500 deductible per person and we can still pretty much go to any of the same doctors. It has really worked out great for us. We have a large family and it really doesn't cost us that much. I am really glad that we were able to cover my brother too, because he is going to have to go to some specialists because of some problems that he is having. Thank god for my hubby working at a job that will cover us all.
So if you are looking for a way to save on insurance, check out an HMO. I know that they have a bad rap, but I think that they have gotten a lot better.

Safety

As a mom of 3 little kids I am always worrying about the safety of my little boys. I worry about them whether they are with me or not. One thing that I always play close attention to though, is their bathroom safety. Did you know that most people at are injured at home, are injured in their bathrooms? It is a fact. So watching your children and getting inexpensive things like cabinet locks and toilet locks and putting razors and other things that little hands should not get their grubby little hands on out of their reach can pay off in the end.

Free small spagetti at Fazoli's!

There is this really cool site where you can sign up to receive a free coupon to Fazoli's. If you have never been there before, you don't know what you are missing! If you like yummy Italian food, you will probably like them. They also have great Italian Ice as well. Yum, I feel like running out right now and getting some:)
Click here for the free coupons!

Looking for insurance?

If you are looking for a good insurance agent, you really should check out this site that I found. The company is one of the largest independently owned insurance companies.
They have all sorts of products including, tool insurance, liability insurance, breakdown recovery, legal assistance and even hotel insurance just to name a few. I think that it being one of the largest independently owned insurance companies really speaks for itself. And who would want to go with a company that is too small to have a good customer support in place and has a name that nobody has heard of? I sure wouldn’t. To me it you pay insurance hoping that you don’t ever have to use it, but if you do, you want to know that it is insurance worth having. I mean who wants to be held liable for something when you had liability insurance that didn’t pay? You don’t want to just throw your money away right? So go with a company that so many other people have trusted too. So go ahead and look around at other options and then come check them out and see what you think. I am sure that they will have a product to off you. How can so many people be wrong?

I wonder what is better for business?

So, I have my site up for my new business and I have also listed 2 auctions on Ebay as well. I have a few watchers on Ebay and the auctions end later on today. I hope that I sell at least one of the items, because that will really help my confidence level a lot. Not that it is too bad right now. I know that I just need to advertise my items and they will sell once people start seeing them and probably when people start buying again after Christmas as well.
Do any of you sell things online? I am thinking of using etsy.com as well, but I don't think that it is as popular as Ebay. On nice thing is that my site www.uniquekidsboutique.com is listed first on google so that is really nice too. I just have to mess around with the site and template some more so that it looks a little bit better. If anyone here uses a store front or something like that for an online business I would love to hear your experience as well.

Thinking of going to EcoQuest this year

I am really thinking of visiting Tennessee later on this year. I used to live near Dolly Wood when I was just a baby and think it would be really cool to go there and look around. They are also holding the EcoQuest intl there this year as well. It will be between August 20-23, 2009 which is also the week of my 9th anniversary. So this would really be a great trip for that. We can learn about new technology to kill bacteria and reduce exposure to infectious germs including the very deadly MRSA and other things on hard surfaces. Anyone with small children should really know all about that because that is a must for keeping your kids healthy and safe. I also think that it would be really fascinating to find out more anyway just to know more for my own benefit. Have any of you ever gone?

New Business?

You know, I keep hearing that right now is not a good time to startup a new business. And then I hear information to the contrary. Small businesses are actually the largest employers in America so they are really the most important. I think that right now, it all depends on what the business is or if it is needed as to if it will pan out of not. I also think that someone starting a new business should have either some sort of savings or another job to keep them afloat either until their business starts to make money or until they make sure that they want to continue in the business.
Do any of you have any sort of experience in starting your own business? I would love to hear it.

Looking for New Management?

I sure hope that some of these companies that are going bellyup in these hard financial times pick Dennis C Carey to help them find the right candidate to replace their top management employees. Mr. Carey has lots of experience in picking top notch managerial candidates for the right companies. He has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies as well. I think that it would really be a benefit to our economy as a whole if these larger companies would hire people that are there to do a good job and not just get paid for being a name on a card. I think that the responsability starts at the top and should run downhill not the other way around. So the managerial positions are the most important to any company. He seems to pick the best people for the jobs.
What do you think about this subject? Do you agree or disagree?

Old Navy online having a great sale

If you like Old Navy, you really should check out their online sale. They are having a 75% off sale on everything from Maternity to baby boys clothes. Isn't that great? But, remember this is only for online purchases. So go ahead and check it out before all the good items are gone!

Looking to start a business?

With the economy the way that it is, I have been trying to figure out more things to do from home so that if something doesn't last through the slowdown, the other things will. I can't afford to loose any money because I still have to be able to pay the bills which just seem to be going up.I have been looking for other ways to try to make money other than just writing and doing arts and crafts. I came across this really cool Plug-In Profit Site . Apparently it's a great business for newbies with no sales experience too. So it is something that just about anyone can do.
So if you are just starting out and wanting to do an online business or if you are just looking for something simple to add to other things that you already have going. You really aught to check it out.

Looking for a good seafood restaurant?

You know sometimes it is good to splurge a little bit when you have been being "slick" for so long. One thing that I love is being treated to a really nice restaurant and spending that time with just my husband. His choice of course is a steak restaurant. He is a real meat and potato sort of guy. I on the other hand love great seafood. And I am not talking about the kind that is frozen and then just deep fried. I am talking about really good food. One restaurant that I have been reading about is on of the top restaurants Philadelphia. They also have restaurants in Orlando which is probably the one that I am going to go to. I can't wait to go. They also have Baltimore restaurants and more listed on their site. They really look to have a really nice and relaxing atmosphere. It will be nice to get away from the kids for a while and just relax. I think I am going to have my husband take me for our anniversary this year. So if you are ever one of the areas that they have a location, go ahead and check them out. I am sure that you will be impressed.

Are you in need of merchant services?

With our very unstable economy, it can really be a scary time for business owners. I just started my business and I am trying to think of everything that I can do to keep it up and running. I think that one of those things is to make sure to have merchant services available. To keep my business up and going, I may end up having to take out a small loan just to get through the harder times to be able to hold on till the better times. I also know that most people do not use cash anymore to buy items. You can see that change when you go to the grocery store. You are in the minority if you actually use cash these days. So being able to take credit cards is a MUST if you want to stay in business. It also makes you look a lot more professional as well. Even if you are are just a start up business like me it really goes a long way at making more sales. So if you have a business and are thinking about checking out loans or credit card services, now is the time. From what I have researched there are some that are very quick to approve and have no hassle, no paperwork approvals.
