Paid off our car!

So a few months ago, we paid off our car. We bought it in July of 2005 brand new off the lot and love the car but totally hated the payments! It cost us close to $400 a month for our car and then we also had to have full insurance with gap coverage just in case it got totaled out. Well, now that it is paid off, I am looking for cheaper insurance. One place that I found was carinsurancelist.com. I will check them out as well as others. I can't wait to lower my monthly payments even more!

Got a jump on school clothes

My boys that are in school are still little. They are 6 and almost 4. They go through there jeans like there is no tomorrow. I have started buying high quality used jeans at consignment shops to save money and still get the best that there is. Last Monday, I was out of school so I went to a really nice consignment shop and bought 5 things for just under $10. I could not believe it! I bough the things that were 50-75% off. There was nothing wrong with them and they still looked new! I bought 3 pairs of jeans and 2 long sleeve shirts (all name brands like Gymboree etc). I so love finding a bargain!

Great place to save for school

Well, it is that time of year again. Even though it feels like the kids just got off on Summer Break, it is time to start thinking about getting things for them to go back to school next month! I can not believe how fast the time has gone. One great site that I have found is tiger direct coupons. Where you can shop on line and save and compare prices too. This is a great thing since we are all so busy already without adding in the added struggle of buying the kids stuff for school on top of it!

I am back and ready to rock!

So I have been gone for quite a while and now I am back! I got sort of bogged down doing my class work for my nursing class but I am now going to start putting a lot more time into blogging again. I am still in class and all, but I really need to set aside some "me" time. So here I am and I am happy to be back:)

Father's day is around the corner!

Well, now that Mother's days is about through, I am now starting to look around for something for my hubby for Father's day. I am thinking about getting him some nice personalized gifts from the boys. I mean who doesn't like those? I know that I sure do and wish that he would actually think ahead and do something like that for me and his mom! So now that I have an idea, I am going to start looking for the perfect personalize gift for him tonight. This is going to be fun!

We have a really low electric bill!

So, my hubby logged on today to see what our new electric bill was. He was so excited when he saw...it was $70!. The way we lowered it by about half or sometimes even more is we now use only those little fluorescent bulbs, making sure to turn off lights that we are not using anyway and we also do not run an AC. We are in Florida so it can get sort of hot here it has already been in the 90s...so we bought a $150 pool and also a salt treatment system for it so that we do not have to buy all of those costly chemicals (the system will pay for itself and then some this summer).

Well, today is Mother's day! I hope that all of you out there are having a great day. This year I just spent some time with my kids mostly since my hubby had to work in the afternoon.
My husband did remember to call his mom today...but I really do wish that he has looked on line for unique gifts for her. There are so many amazing things that he could have sent to her, but he just did not think about it until it was too late. I guess it will be up to me to do it for him next year, and I will just order myself something nice while I am at it;)
