Great deal on plants

Well, if you are like me (now addicted to gardening), this is for you! If you got to Springhill.com they are having a great sale. The sale is $20 off of any order of $20. You just have to pay the shippign which is $7.95. You don't even have to go to $20 if you don't want to. If you find something for $12.99 that you want, then get it and it is only $7.95 for the shipping. I am thinking of ordering $20 worth of Blackberry plants for just $7.95 including shipping.
Pretty slick:)

Wondering about weight loss

In this day and age where so many people are so worried about their weight for health and yes even vanity reasons, there is no daught that there are a tone of weight loss products on the market. This makes it hard to tell which are the ones that are best for your particular situation. Sort of reminds me of all the different kinds of toothpaste that is out now. Have you noticed? When I was a kid I just remember Crest, Aim and Colgate. I do not remember the different flovers and jobs that certain ones do. Now they even have one to use at night? lol Choices, choices...

When looking for a job from home...

With this economy, if you do not currently have a job or you are looking for a second one to help make the bills, a great way to make that money is work from home. However, please do your research before giving out any personal information and never ever pay for a "Job". There can be fees for a home business though but again, that is where your research comes in. You should never have to pay anyone to work for them.

Wish they had them around sooner

With so many little boys in the house, I really have to get the vacuum out a lot. It takes a good heavy duty one to be able to keep it going around here too. A lot of vacuums I have seen lately have special features if you have allergies or animals. I thought that was a great idea. Why did it take so many years to come out with something like that? I wish that they had had those years ago with my cat hair allergies.

If you have the extra space...

If you have the extra space to store things now is the time to buy great party supplies for next year. They have a lot of St Pattys stuff on sale at CVS right now for about 90% off. They also do the same with Valentines, Halloween and Easter as well. My CVS does not however do this for Christmas which is a shame. Would love to load up on some of thos nice Icecicle lights again.

The list goes on and on...

My list of what I want to get when we get our tax return back just keeps getting longer and longer... Now I have added new office furniture to the list. I really want a nice big comfy chair for myself. My office chair that I have right now is oh I would say probably about 8 years old. It was a nice one when we got it, but it has lost some of its padding with time and actually hurts to sit in. Oh can't wait for that return!

CVS

Just wanted to remind everyone that has a CVS in the area. Make sure to use your EC (Extra Care Card) when you go in. There should be a machine where you are able to get your extra savings. I went in yesterday needing to get some Zyrtec which was $14.99 and got an extra care savings from the machine for $5 off of $15.00 so I was able to get some other stuff while I was there and it didn't cost me anything:)

When to spend a little more.

If you are like me and take lots of pictures of say the kidos and just never have the time to download them to the computer, then you really should invest in a good one. All of those pictures that you take on vacation or on birthdays or Christmas are ireplaceable so make sure to weigh the cost and the name and respectability of good memory cards. One day I am sure that you will be very glad that you did.

Think before buying a used mattress

I buy a lot of things used to save money. One thing however that I will not buy used is a mattress. Why do you ask? Well apart from dust mites, previous owners doing filthy things on it with or without sheets there are also bed bugs. Let me tell ya, they are not anything to sniff at. They actually bite and they are really hard to get rid of. I don't know personally, but I have seen specials on TV about them and just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. People that sell used mattresses do not even check to see if they have them or not. It is just not a good idea. You will end up spending many times what you would pay for a new mattress if you end up lucky enough to get them.

Love to see the country

One nice and less expensive way to see the country is to travel using rv parks. There are clubs that you can join for discounts and lists where you can look up parks in different areas whether you are looking for a park in the mountains or just a family oriented sort of park. It is cheaper and you can sleep in your own bed without having to wonder if the sheets have actually been washed since the last guess. ewww!

Saving money on your electric bill

I think that most people know about turning your thermostat down in the winter and up in the summer to save power. One thing that we do is budget billing. It may not always actually save you money every month, but it will really make it easier to determine how much your bill will be the next month. The way it works is that they average the usage over a 12 month period. I know there are 2 different towns near me that people are complaining to their elected officials about their power bills being $500-$700 a month right now! And it is very mild and not even Summer yet. I bet a lot of those people are wishing that they had done budget billing.

Has me thinking a little

One thing that I really like about my new job, is that I can either do it from home or from a nice air conditioned courthouse. I don't have to worry about working in a job where it can be hazardist to my health or anything like that. I mean some people working in certain industries have to worry about things like Mesothelioma. Just from going to work. To me it is just not worth the risk.

Growing Chickens for Eggs

I have decided to have a backyard chicken coop. I am going to have around 6 chickens for egg production and to also have my sons learn a little bit about "farming". I think this summer is going to be a great one for my 5 year old learning about gardens and also chickens and eggs. I really like the Silkie breeds. I they are from China mainly. They almost look like they have hair or fur instead of feathers. To me that almost puts them in a class as another small sort of animal like a rabbit. I figure after the initial expense of heat lamp, I will break even in a couple of months for the cost and then I will have farm fresh free range brown eggs. Yum!

Can't wait to be outside more!

Well, it feels like summer here. At least here in Florida it does:) It makes me want to go swimming. This year we are going to get a swimming pool for the boys erm and for mom and dad as well...That of course got me thinking about a swimming suit and how I would really like to tone up and be able to fit into a nice one. Maybe I should try some diet pills as well?

Great shoe sale at Shoes.com

Nice weather!

Well this warm weather has made me start thinking about looking for some good ol' travel deals. I am thinking about going to the beach. I know that my oldest two sons would really enjoy it. Not too sure about my youngest though, it might be too hot for him. I know that it has been too long since I have gone though and really miss it!

Not getting a cheapo watch

You know, I am not one of those people that has to have the big name brand products. A lot of cheaper products are pretty much the same as the more expensive ones. Especially at say the grocery store. One thing though that is better then the cheapo is watches. I would never buy a cheap watch thinking that it would keep good time or that it would last for very long either. One of the best brands for working right and for longevity is Chanel watches.

Want to buy a snuggie or two?

Have you seen the infomercials with the snuggies? The commercials are pretty funny. They show a whole family sitting at a football game sitting in their matching snuggies to keep warm...sort of funny and nerdy at the same time. Don't know what a snuggie is? It is basically a bathrobe that is turned around backwards that is longer. Yeah I think that about sums it up. Anyway, they usually go for $19.99 plus shipping on TV and right now they are $15 for 2 plus you get 2 book lights as well. So, if you are going to get one now is the time, they are available at Cosco for this price.

Updating our house some

We are getting our house updated a bit in the next month or two. I am really ready to update the kitchen especially. Our house is from 1975 and everything in the kitchen is pretty much original except for the fridge and dishwasher. I am going to get a nice flattop stove and also a really nice discount Moen faucets just to spruce it up and make it look like it is from this century at least:) I would also like to have the cabinets done in white instead of the dark color that they are not.

Update on the $25 gift certificate from Restaurant.com

Well I got my free $25 gift card in my email this past week for Restaurant.com. I am so excited too. I got it for the little seafood restaurant that is a few blocks from our house. I am planning to use it on Tuesday which is one of the hubby's days off of work. It's really going to be nice to be able to go have a nice meal and not have to worry about how much we spent as well. So, if you haven't already done this deal, look at my other post and see how to get a free $25 gift card. I know that the actual site is actually doing an 80% off deal right now as well where you can get a certificate for $2 which is worth $25.
